Mommy’s with boys... circumcision or no? Reasons why or why not.

I did only because that’s all I’ve ever known, I feel it’s slightly cleaner, and I don’t want him asking his daddy some day “why’s mine different from yours?” If he were to ever see it for some reason

We didn't. Saw no reason to, and didn't want to put him through that.

We did. I left it solely up to his father and what his father felt was right. I don't have a penis so I didn't think I should be the one making the decision but I support his 100% . The procedure was simple and didn't even seem to bother him at all.

I let dad decide and wanted it done. To me it is just like vaccines or anything else. it all had risks. Just make the decision that is right for your family. we had no complications. everything is well. They both were not phased at all.

I did because it decreases risk of STD, infection, penile cancer and ovarian cancer in women. Just do your research and decide what’s best!

Yes I'm getting my boy circumcised. Easier to clean and I've known a few people who had to get circumcised in there teens because of problems down there. So I would much rather just do it right away.

I don't have a boy yet, but if I ever do have a boy, I will be getting him circumcised. I feel it's been around for many years and the doctors know what they are doing.. In my opinion it's cleaner and alot easier to take care of not only as a baby but as they get older as well!

@avahcruz how does a sex organ modification on a male affect sex organ cancer in females? I'm not against circumcision it's each to their own but wondering the research that links those two

I have 2 boys already and welcoming a new baby boy in March. All my boys are circumcised and my new baby will be too. I just wanted to see different points of views and opinions

@bethann87, it goes back to cleanliness and stds which have been linked to cause of penile cancer in men, and ovarian in women.

My son is circumcised. We chose to do so because his uncle was in his 30's and had to have it done due to some random infection. (Not sex related either) and he was a clean person. We didn't want our son going through that.

My husband now is not circumcised and we decided if we had/have a son he will not be either.

No because there is no necessary reason to do it.

All of the reasons to do it have been debunked. A circumcised mans lifetime uti risk is 1.25%. An uncircumcised mans uti risk is 1.27%. Less than half of a percent. Circumcision doesn’t keep you from getting stds either. That’s also been debunked. Our country has one of the highest std rates and we also have one of the highest circ rates. Only protection will keep a man from getting an std. if it’s something you’re really looking into I’d suggest you watch “elephant in the hospital” on YouTube. It’s a very informative video on circumcision. Also- care for intact boys is super easy. If you’re interested in more info or intact care info please feel free to message me. I’ve read every study on circ when I was pregnant with my son and didn’t cut him.

I left it to my husband and we got it done. I don’t have a penis so I don’t think I should be making that decision just like one mom said. Healing process was easy and didn’t have any complications.

I think it’s a personal decision so I left it up to my son to decide 🙂 plus all the reasons to do it have been debunked. We are one of the only countries left who do it because other countries think its barbaric. Not to mention insurances are taking off of things they will pay for because it’s considered a cosmetic procedure.

@morgan_dremom, if his hole is closing baby boy definitely needs to go because he pees out of that same hole.

@mommykai I'm at the Urologist now she said circumcision is a comestic surgery
