This sleep fighting/teething is killing me and my OH off. Getting a maximum of 3 hours sleep each per night usually it’s awful 😩 he was fast asleep at 7:30pm and has been screaming the house down for 53 minutes now, we keep taking it in turns to go in and settle him, the second we walk out he goes again, literally tried everything no idea what to do 🙈

No teeth yet!!!?
Bless him have u tried calpol?
The only thing that settles Charlie will be a dummy but i know you've tried that!
Do you think it's because he's in his own room? I imagine Charlie being like that when he is xx

@laurabump27 no still no teeth 😩 his top one looks like it’s ready for cutting through any day and both bottom ones but it’s been like this for weeks, months even with the bottom ones! He has a big bottle after a bath and calpol and bonjela and I can put him in his cot when he’s awake at 7:30pm and he’ll sleep like an angel for about an hour! It probably is a bit of separation anxiety and the teething, The only way we can get him to stay down is doing controlled crying with him and I really didn’t wanna do it because I’ve heard so many bad comments about it but there’s only so many ways we can keep trying! I’m so jealous of mums who’s babies sleep through atm it’s crazy xxx

Can you see white or feel sharp!?
It was months for Charlies bottom ones tbf.
Do you put him to bed when hes acting not tired atal!.
I wait till Charlie acts tired yes.. it's somtimes 9.30 But he sleeps like 10 hours straight!
I let him tell me when hes tired and i know its good to have routine but its never too late and I'm thankful he sleeps right the way through.
I dunno about this controlled crying... can't let Charlie cry for too long as he has a throat condition and it makes it worse.. but needs must I suppose.... have u tried.. taking him out in the car then putting him bed... not convenient but some babies really settle after a car ride. Xxx

@laurabump27 the bottom two you can see white, the top one you can just see the full outline of the tooth and see it way more raised than the rest of the gum, 99% of the time I wait till he’s tired and put him down and that’s always been around 7-8pm so a few weeks back I got him into a routine of tea time, play, bath, bottle and bed.
As for the controlled crying thing I just looked up on it loads and if he cried I’d leave him for a couple minutes go in, settle him and he’d go to sleep and I’d leave, if he cried again I’d leave it an extra couple minutes each time before going in and he’s gotten better each time at self soothing and I always make sure I settle him well before leaving the room I just wish I could put him down and he’d sleep for more than an hour or 2 at a time it must be awful for him though going through teething and this anxiety at the same time I’m just at my wits end with the lack of sleep 😩 and yeah hun when he gets really bad my partner does take him out in the car and he settles well! But it’s taking him out the car and putting him back down which is the hard part he’s either giddy or screaming 🙈 xxx

Oh god... hopefully these teeth will start to come through...lots of teething toys help to break them through.... bless him... it's so hard being a baby because they can't tell you!
We've faced separation anxiety with Charlie but when hes awake so literally I can't leave the room or anyone else holds him or he just breaks his little heart!!
It's exhausting isnt it.... it sounds a good routine you've got going but just have to maybe persevere....
Has he got a little night light or ceiling projector?... Charlie loves his!
Have u tried... putting him to sleep... chilling in ther with him then the first time he wakes and your still there he might feel comforted that your not leaving... but then once he's drifts off again sneak out!
Try white noise too!!!

@laurabump27 I hope so! I’ll try giving him his teething toys a bit more then I always forget he has them 😂 it really is exhausting! I bet it is for you when he’s really attached to you it’s hard to get time to yourself and de stress!
And I was only talking today about getting him that starry night light from Asda or Tesco I think they’re in, he has a little fibre optic one at the moment but he takes no interest in it, but thats a good idea! I might try that tomorrow when I put him down and just stay till his first wake and see how it goes, thanks for the idea Xxx

Yeah Avon do one... Charlie is obsessed with it and it's only cheap... it's worth a try!!
Even if he wakes it might entertain him till he nodds off agaim!
Yes I'm sure teething toys helped us... also... teething has never been too bad with charlie and looking back he's had an amber teething ankelt from day one... I know some swear by them.. so maybe also worth a try!! Xxx

@shannonn95, hi Hun I feel your pain, my lil girl was like this, she was late to start getting her teeth at 10 months but we've certainly been through the mill with them, I tried calpol and bonjela, but please try the ambesol liquid it's amazing! I swear by it!!! If your little ones really bad you can alternate calpol and nurofen for this really difficult times, I have used controlled crying with both my children and if you do it properly like you were saying in an earlier post I find it really works...however it's hard while they are teething, I've used that method from the word go but when poorly or teething it's a bit different isn't it, you need to comfort them more. If you haven't already tried the ambesol liquid tho Hun I would get some, good luck and let us know how you get on xxxx

@shannonn95, your welcome Hun, it lasts ages too, it's says you can only apply every 3 hours but I did my research online and you can actually apply it again after say 30-45 mins, but you are not allowed to apply it more than 8 times in 24 hours, but since I only ever need it during night times it never gets to that point! Good luck honey, no sleep is the worst thing ever!!
