Can anyone help me im kinda wanting more ultrasounds, im told on medicaid caresorce that i only get 2 the intire pregnacy i dont think thats fair this is my only pregnacy and its a mirical, there cutting a tumor out when my babys born whoch requires tieing my tubes and im upset that for the only baby ima have i will only have two ultrasounds does anyone know how i can get more i mean ill pay if i have to. I just want to see my mirical baby... I dont think theres anything wrong with that... Do u? And ideas or ways to help me get more cuz im 4months. Well 15w. And 4d. But only had 1 ultrasound and i feel its unfair just cuz im on medicaid..

@avahcruz, After that study came out, they did more research and found that it was inaccurate. Of course, more people look at “bad for you” articles, so they pop up earlier in searches

@avahcruz, As an ultrasound tech, I can tell you that’s actually not true. Ultrasound does nothing to the body for the mom or baby. It’s the safest medical imaging technique available

It's not just your insurance. I have Tricare and I only have had 2 ultrasounds and I am 33+ weeks and won't be getting anymore. It's just how they do it.
I only have received 3. Would have been only 2 but got the 3rd one because I opted to test for abnormalities. I know you're excited, but unless you're high risk your doctor won't give you more than standard ultrasounds. The only way to get more is if you go to a source that does them for you outside of your doctors office. They normally cost around 90 dollars so it's almost not even worth it because you could use the money to get your baby the things he or she will need. The wait will definitely be worth it when your baby gets here ❤
Pretty much what all the ladies said. It's not because you're on medicaid. Most insurances only cover 2-3 because that's all that's necessary. You're best bet is to go to a private 3D ultrasound place, you might be able to find a deal on Groupon.
You get more ultrasounds if you have a high risk pregnancy and they need to check on your baby more often.
Ultrasounds send sound waves that bounce of you baby’s body which creates the image that you see when having one. They limit them to two (one to see how far along you are, and one to get their measurements, gender, check on how they’re developing, etc) because the sound frequencies have been known to cause discomfort for the baby in the womb.

Talk to your dr about being able to pay for them. My dr only gave me 2 as well but said I could pay 200 for another one if I wanted so double check and make sure you cant through them first
The standard is usually your dating scan and then your anatomy scan, regardless of insurance. Yes, some women may have more than that, but typically, that's all the ultrasounds you get unless you pay for an elective ultrasound or are high risk.

So I have my 2nd ultrasound tomorrow, but medicaid only covers 2 ultrasounds (barely 11 weeks), Im curious if they will do a gender one for me? Or bloodwork for gender? Or will da 3rd ultrasound b outta my pocket?
Did anyone else have problems getting medicaid? I cant see a doctor until I have a medicaid number but my medicaid is pending and they dont give you a number until youre accepted? They told me it can take up to 6 months to be accepted. My baby is due in 4!!
getting stressed out cuz I have nothing for my baby but a box of diapers and wipes what to do :/
