Yeh that's what their there for. You'll get a questionnaire for his 2yr check and you tick of what he can do, working in etc. And they'll add up and talk to you about any concerns.

When Morgan had a check up I bought up that he often didn't react/ listen when I called him. Wondered if/when they checked children's hearing again. They called him, whispered. He turned straight away lol. So I realised he was just ignoring me or to busy in what he was doing.

My mum had 3 girls before my little brother. He was slow in everything compared to us, but especially speech. U can mention it at next developmental check and they'll offer speech therapy if they're concerned. But more often than not it's not worth it. Boys are just a little slow at communicating

We all do it but try not to compare one child to another. Often boys talk later than girls. Morgan was only saying words and it wasn't until after 2yrs he started to talk a bit more. He had selective hearing. Could hear me when he wanted to and ignored me when he wanted to! If you are still concerned you can mention it at his 2yr check and they'll advice on the next path to take. But for now I think with encouragement and time he'll be talking and you won't be able to stop him lol.

Yes she dose but i talk to the hv them said because she got two languages she will talk soon i was worry but now i just say she be soon

@niaz2014, does she say just words or a few words together ?

@1luckymama, I got him checked when he was around 1-ish x everything was fine x they said he will eventually pick up on words in his own time x and that after the age of 3-4 is a more worrying age if he still isn't talking x but i feel that is too long to leave it x

@jessr19895x, yeah i do the same hun x been doing it for a while x he used to say mum x but he's stopped saying it 😢x he calls everyone daddy lol x I taught him to call his youngest sister 'baba' (short for baby) x now he calls his older sisters that too lol x

My daughter is 3 and she not much talking yet dont worry about it

I was the same about Faye but I just kept repeating words to her all the time and she is okay with it now. I also put some YouTube videos on of nursery rhymes and a few words where they use it in a fun way and she's started to repeat off there xx
