Really sad that the Navy is making my husband go on deployment in February, when that’s when our first child will be born.... he’s gonna be gone for 5 months and won’t see her until June. My feelings are so hurt. He won’t be there for birth or any of it. I know it comes with the job I’m just ranting. I am thankful that he’s been to every appointment but I rather him be there for our daughters birth 😞😞
38 weeks, start bouncing on that yoga ball and going on extra long walks. I know baby comes when baby is ready, but a little push won't hurt lol.
@breloya, ahhh man I can say I’m grateful that he’s been here throughout the whole pregnancy but has a chance to miss the most important part. I told him 38/39 weeks I’ll be okay if she comes then plus she’s measuring a couple days bigger so hopefully it’ll be in a favor and she comes a week or two early. But she’s already showing signs of stubbornness so then again Idk, I would be so mad if she comes on the 23rd when he’s leaving lol . But as long as she remains healthy I’m okay I have no other choice but to be.
Oh damn. 😔 that sucks and since he's new at the command, they're probably definitely not going to let him miss this deployment. And you don't have to apologize. I know how it is. My husband missed my entire first pregnancy because he was always underway. His ship was always out to sea. Then right when my daughter turned 3 months, he deployed for 7 months. Then that deployment got extended. He didn't see her again until she was about to turn 1. It's hard, especially with a baby, which is why I got out of the Navy myself before starting a family.
I hope your baby comes a few days earlier, shoot even a week early. 39 weeks is still far enough for a completely healthy baby. And in your case, I can definitely understand wanting to give birth a tad bit earlier.
@breloya, It’s different because he’s suppose to be on shore duty, so that’s why we decided to have a child now, and he works at balboa medical center/hospital and it’s connected to a ship so he’s been selected to go on this 5 month deployment he’s put in a requests not to go because of the simple fact he wants to see his child born also being that he’s only been at this place for 7 months I guess he doesn’t really have the pull or people so it’s like really frustrating because I don’t have any family in California so I’ll be alone with the baby for 5 months and no help. Then being a first time mom is extra scary. Sorry I’m ranting I’m just uggggh right now
Put in a leave chit super early with the reason why. He could even talk to his chief, etc. I had a cool CO and you could talk to him on a personal level, but I don't know how his CO or chain of command is. But I'd say to put in a chit for leave to start around Feb. 21 or so for a week. Like I said, it isn't a guarantee, but it doesn't hurt to try.
That, or ask for an elective induction or c section. I wouldn't usually recommend that, but it would be so sad for him to deploy a few days before his child is born.
@breloya, how would it work? He leaves the 23rd of Feb and my due date is the 26th of Feb. Idk it’s confusing hopefully she comes a little early before he leaves that’s my best bet for right now
It's possible that he could try to take leave and then get flown out to the ship. It isn't guaranteed, but worth a shot. I've even worked with a few who were able to fly home for a week during deployment when their wife gave birth.
@txyogagirl, no they’re not really all that understanding , I wish they were
@neat_neat2, I feel for u I thought they were u understanding? I would be sad too
Birth Plan Rant
I used to be all about getting an epidural, but after research and thinking about it more I want to have an unmedicated birth (this is my first baby). What annoys me is when I say that I'm going to TRY my hardest to have a natural and unmedicated birth people always feel the need to say that I'm crazy or that I'm going to change my mind when I get in that position. Or that epidurals are the best. I do realize that plans change, but why can't people be supportive and encouraging?
Will your Mom be in the delivery room?
My mom made it sound like she was gonna be in the delivery room when I give birth, and quite frankly, I would just like it to be me and my fiancé. It's our first, and I want to share that special moment with just him. I don't want to hurt her feelings, and I know this is something she would really like to be a part of. So I feel bad telling her no.
I’ve only had 2 ultrasounds one at 12w and anatomy at 20w my Ob said I won’t get anymore now ... 🤔🤔 ? Sooo I won’t know position or weight or anything until he’s here ? I feel like I had at least one more with my daughter around 35 weeks . 😕😕
OT. rant! forward facing early
ok, so in my birth month forum (October 2012) someone posted a picture of their lo riding in the car in a forward facing seat! what???? it baffles me when parents do this. I'm not trying to offend anyone.. but why do ppl do this?? the oldest baby in our birth month is 9 months, she was 3 months premature. but even at 9 months I wouldn't have my child forward facing.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
@breloya, yes imma have to rush her a little if I can if not I’ll get my sister to video tape it for him so at least he’ll get a chance to watch
