I recently got a new manager at work. Don't like him at all. He just posted the new schedule for this week and only schedule me in for one day. I work 4 days a week. I make almost 900 every 2 weeks. This means I only make 200 every 2 weeks. I can't afford that! I'm having my baby in 2 months!!! What the hell should I do 😭😭😭😭😭😭
@starting_over39 2 week waiting period, then you get it. If they're backed up and you have to Wait a bit longer, you get back pay
You have to apply for mat leave and your employer needs to give you the form (record of employment) then after you apply at Service Canada it's takes up to 6 weeks to kick in. @mikaylanichol101
@hperry845, thank you so much! I had no idea about this
@mikaylanichol101 You can, or you can apply online. You need your baby's birth date(Or due date, you can apply 9 weeks prior) and your record of employment (usually submitted automatically by the company)
@hperry845, so how do I work that out. Pop over to service Canada tell em I'm on mat leave and they pay me?
@starting_over39, depending on my financial situation after the baby I was going to take a year off working focus on studies and my baby. But if it continues like this I'm going to have to go back. How long can I take off work ?
It is so sickening how some employers treat their staff uggh 🙄
@mikaylanichol101 your entitled to mat leave after 700 hrs.. and do you plan on returning there after baby or looking elsewhere..
@mikaylanichol101 very few workplaces pay mat leave. Its all through service Canada
@mikaylanichol101 very drastic. I feel for you. But I guess you would have accumulated the hours needed for your sick.leave/maternity leave by now. Any way you can just start going on a leave if that's all the hours he will give you? My boss just threatened.to take me.off schedule when I tried to call in sick one day so I said f it. And my doctor agreed and gave me my sick leave
@neko86, he claims he has the right to change and arrange staff as he sees fit. I get it he's the manager but going from 40 hours a week to 10 is drastic.
@starting_over39, I sadly did not receive any job offer letter. I spoke with him this morning. He told me that he has to many people coming in already and that he has to cut everyone's hours. Except I'm the only one who he cut like that. I'm losing 4 days of work. I know he wants me gone.
Do you have a job offer letter.. check and see if they agreed To give you certain hours bi-weekly or weekly. Then if would have to adjust it. Please before you verbally tell him anything take a pic of your schedule.. email him (ask him for email but ask from home and say your phone is acting up etc...) I don't know what work you do so it's kinda hard to give you exact steps. Then when you have his email.. inform him of you job offer agreement and make sure you read the fine print etc.. that way he cannot rebuttal you. You always wanna dot you (i's) and cross your (t's) 😉. Ask has pertinent questions about your schedule change ask about your workplace performance etc. I hope this helps but ppl don't excercise their rights enough at work and it's very common to be discriminated against while being pregnant sometimes. Maybe it could be a schedule error too or also because he is new (I'm an optimist) 😊 @mikaylanichol101
Wth..how can he just cut you out like that. Can you talk to him? If you have seniority over some of the others or have more experience I would bring that up. I suppose you are not union either..say something to him though. Find out what his reason is but explain you need the hours until baby is here. That's bull
Ladies what was your work schedule like while pregnant? I work 40 hours a week & have only 2 days off a week . Should I cut my hours back ?
Drop your due dates I'm due April 10th but scheduled for a C-section for April 3rd 61 days left if I make it to 39 weeks currently 30 weeks 2 days

Only benefit of being high risk. In two weeks, I start weekly ultrasounds to measure my cervix. Waiting on a call from my OB to make an appointment to start progesterone injections. Two appointments every week. 😂😂
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.
So someone contacted me waiting me to watch her son four days a week for $150/wk. I had to tell her that even if someone worked for $10/hr it only pays for a day and a half in my opinion?
I mean maybe I’d do it for $300? But the $150 I just can’t see if being worth it to me
Yup.. if you want you can ask employer for vacation payout which will help during the waiting period as well @mikaylanichol101 @hperry845
