@marquitta_g, nah I have never heard that they hit the sciatic nerve but, ur body with the extra weight n hormones can cause other things to happen. I didnt have alot of my most painful issues until after I delivered and it had more to do with the pregnancy, not the epidural. I had the MOST painful wrist issue, more painful than my sciatic pain because my wrist tendon would roll over my wrist bone at any moment whether I was awake or sleep. It was due to hormones which caused inflammation. Chiiiiiile its called DeQuervain Syndrome and it finally went away like a mnth n half ago. My son is almost 8 mnths 😳. Sadly, it takes time.

@marquitta_g no, unfortunately, it's something that is very common and is a normal sideeffect. It sucks but they can't see inside the spine and if you move in the slightest it can mess up the stick

Oh yes, all those issues and then some after my first child. It was absolute hell. This time I went without the epidural and I can tell you that recovery has been absolutely amazing I can't tell you the damage that an epidural can do without you realizing it. I thought what I was feeling was normal from child birth until this go round.

Oh my! I didnt have those issues but I did have some numbness in my lower back and left foot for mnths. After a while, my upper back would itch immensely. I mean like tha dickens. I would have to stop talking and find a wall to find satisfaction. It itched most of the day for what seemed like a little over a mnth. Then one day there was nothing. No numbness, no itching, no sciatic pain. Now there is no sign of anything other than my hips are finally acting like they wanna be a part of my body again. If I were you, I would tell my OB cuz it sounds serious. Just know, if you haven't heard it yet...its gonna take a while for ur body to turn the corner back to normalcy. If the pain in ur leg is on the back side and it starts from ur butt...that might be ur sciatic nerve...not friendly at all.
