Is teething gonna leave a baby with a constant fever? And when your children were/are teething do they usually have fevers and how long do they last? My daughter has had a fever for two days now and her father doesnt think she needs to go to the doctors.. Also when they are teething do they look sickly?
@nomli she is extra cranky and doesnt want to get out of bed which is unusual. So im gonna take her temp now and see where its at
And the bottom of her feet are just so warm!!! Her whole little body is just on fire @nomli
Not really. He's always tugged on his ears and hair since he was a newborn. That day, though, his one ear did look red to us and had some extra gook coming out. It's tough to know because teething babies can tug on their ears too, just without a fever.
Honestly, with that fever, we only knew he didn't feel well because he felt warm, wasn't as hungry, and wanted some extra cuddles. I only knew it spiked because I had picked him up and he felt really warm. He didn't let us know at all.
@nomli did he pull on his ears or anything to let you know they hurt him?
It could be an ear infection. When his spiked we had orders to give him motion every 4 hours to keep it down, and to go to the hospital if it wouldn't go down or went up. (This was all at 11pm on a Friday. I'm in the tub with him, his dad was off to the store to get more motrin. I didn't sleep all night. Fun times.)
@kambam we usually sleep topless cause i still co sleep but she is so hot i have to move away.. I lay with her as long as i can though
@kambam she loves popsicles and ive been giving her Pedialyte but she doesnt really want that she just wants milk and sleep.. And mom
@nomli well maybe im just being a helicopter mom. Tylenol and ibp dont seem to be helping. The fever comes right back if she has a fever tomorrow im just gonna take her in
I would have her seen to be safe ❤ if she's better in morning then you can cancel. Maybe she will try a smoothie, yogurt, or popsicle?
Around 100. For babies her age they usually don't worry unless it goes over 103, I think. Ear infections do mimic teething though. They weren't worried about my son's fever when it was 102 for a few days, but when it spiked to over 104 they wanted us to come in. Turned out to be an ear infection.
And she has been throwing up the last couple of days.. Now frequent but at least twice a day and not eating.. Havent gotten her to eat in the last two day @kambam
A low grade fever is usually nothing to worry about....teething, too warm, a cold maybe. A real fever means their body is fighting off something. His pediatrician usually doesn't worry about a fever unless it's been 3 days, gets really high, or is accompanied by other worrisome symptoms. We also avoid medicine unless it's high or he's uncomfortable so the fever can fight whatever it's fighting.
A teething baby can look miserable, my son sometimes has a low grade fever when he's teething bad, and he gets bags under his eyes from I assume fitfull sleep.
@kambam everyone keeps telling me i dont need to take my daughter in she is just teething but she has woken up with 102.0 fever the last two days now
Mine had a low grade fever w pre molars. Also just didn't seem right slept all day/breastfed. but trust your instincts. They don't do much at hospital though besides fluids and pain reliever I think. Depends.
Im also just asking because babies just dont run fevers for no reason she could have a virus! Right?
😔 is her doctor open on weekends?
