Who of you ladies had their baby for the first months in a co-sleeper / bassinet next to your own…

Have you looked into baby hammocks? We got a natures sway hammock for our baby to use instead of a crib, it also makes a good bassinet. we ended up co-sleeping anyway but she uses the hammock for naps. Our daughter is almost 2 years old and still uses it.

@loveless no i didnt, have to look into that! Is the baby laying flat in there?

@0711_sandra it curves like a cocoon, makes it more womb-like and hugs to better suit their spine. It's designed to make them feel like they are being held and you can bounce it (saved my arms a lot of work) there's no risk of flat-head syndrome, it helps with colicky babies, and it elevates the chest so there's no obstruction of the airways meaning they breathe easy. significantly less sids prone than a crib or a regular bassinet.

@loveless hm sounds interesting! Where did you bought it? After dinner i have to Google it. I just always here your baby has to lay straight because of sids etc. ?.... its my first baby so I still have to look into so much lol

I bought it from naturessway, it's organic hemp/cotton but from New Zealand so shipping is expensive. There are other hammock brands some more expensive than others just got to browse around find what you like in budget.

Honestly how a baby should sleep is always changing so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Haha yeah I get it definitely overwhelming. I did so much research on almost everything, it's part of what led me to have a free birth.

I love my Halo bassinet! It has the 360 swivel plus easy drop side for BF & I can adjust the height to fit close to my bed. I co slept(them in bassinet) with both my other 2!

@ashley.coe84 i know, it really does look great. I'm browsing on amazon and always see that halo one. Just that price is ugh.... how long were you able to go sleep your baby in there ?

@0711_sandra, it says until about 5 months. I forgot what the weight was, I think up to 35 lbs. also idk if you have a Once Upon a Child resale store around where you live but they always have nice used baby items if you don’t want to spend the extra money on a new one 😊

@ashley.coe84 I have to look into that option! I just love that you can have the baby so close and the height adjustment is great... ☺
