Sorry a little rant
Im getting married on a Monday and having a party on saturday and I have just been told by my family in Manchester that it's too far to come to (brentwood) for a party 😥
Excuse me it's not just a party it's my wedding.
Im guessing if i got married on the sat aswell they would here but sorry we can't afford a massive wedding with meal and party like wtf.
This is why I wanted to get married just me,my partner and baby but why should my partner miss out on a wedding and party as his family are normal and mine are fucked up.

I had family come from all over the uk and my husbands family moaned about travelling 1hr in the car. I simply said come, don't come, we'll have a fabulous day regardless. If they've had enough time to plan transport then I don't really see an excuse if their close family. The most important people will be there so don't worry.
I got married abroad and my family complained. I just said if you don't want to come then don't. Even though it was mainly his family that turned up we had a beautiful day and i wouldn't change a thing If I did it again.. Looking back, I stressed so much about wanting to please everybody on our special day. Try not to worry about it, and enjoy every minute, because it goes by so quickly..x
Thats not too far! My family came from London to sheffield on the morning of my wedding.

My husband and I got married almost 9 years ago. Since at the time we had no money, we were young college students and we couldn't afford anything, we chose to get married at a courthouse with just 2 witnesses (no dress, no engagement ring...)
