I get so envious of people who have date nights, I can’t remember the last time I had one with my…

I've been with my oh for nearly 4 years and we've only ever been on one half proper date lmao. I get social anxiety quite bad so we used to mainly sit at home and watch films. now I'm lucky if I can get through the soaps without having to catch up x

@courtney0503, I’ve had I think 3 or 4 date nights since I had my daughter but that’s only because no one wants to babysit. I literally don’t have one reliable babysitter. I suffer with major anxiety too it’s horrible x

Weve had one night away from the kids and that was out wedding night! Desperately wishing we could go out but neither of us trust my husbands parents to look after the kids

@kayteamay, oh I’m the same I don’t really trust anyone that’s why I don’t have a reliable babysitter. I would give anything for a night away from the kids, don’t get me wrong I love them to bits but I need me time x

@sarahlucindagiddins dont feel bad about it!! We all need a break. The only person we trust is my mum and she lives 2 hours away in london. Dreading my labour when his parents are going to have the kids. Im hoping its a weekend so my mum can be here!

@kayteamay, fingers crossed it is in the weekend for you, I had the same situation when I was in labour with Ava, my partners mum had to have Stan and that was the last person I wanted him to be babysitted by. Through the whole of my labour I kept telling my partner to go home as I was so worried, I think if I get pregnant again I might have to have a home birth lol just so I know my kids are safe x

Every Friday one of us cooks and we pretend we went out to a restaurant lol that's as fun as our date nights get. Mum took my daughter tonight and she ended up dropping her back an hour later 😂 so that was the first time in ages we had to spend time together and it flopped but we still had a nice dinner and stuff whilst she was asleep. It's the little things that count I find x

@mum2sky, my partner does that too, he puts the kids to bed a little earlier and makes a really nice meal and we eat on our balcony 😊, he knows are lack of date nights really get too me as we don’t really have anyone to babysit, I hardly have any family and we don’t really like his babysitting as there not really reliable. So yeah it is the little things that he does really does make me happy. I also got pregnant quite quick into our relationship so the date nights sort of became less frequent from there x

@sarahlucindagiddins that is so sweet. Yeah I know what you mean it must be difficult,especially when you don't have that one person that could probably take them for an hour or 2. But don't be too hard on yourself because like I always say to my partner when they're 18 we have the rest of our lives to make up for date nights 😂 and we are the same. I got pregnant 2 months into our relationship so we didn't get a lot of time to have fun and stuff but as long as you try no-one can fault you for that x

@mum2sky, that’s exactly like me lol I got pregnant 2 months in to the relationship but it felt right like I knew he was the one I would want to have a baby with lol sorry for the cheesy ness. I think before I got pregnant I had such an active social life and then it went, same with my partner. But we do try and work around it like you said have meals at home or we go out for breakfast when the kids are in school/nursery or have a walk in the park, even going to the gym together is nice 😊 x

@sarahlucindagiddins that's crazy lol and me too! I was always out and I was living in a flat share and was working and having such a good social life then it all went, lost friends etc. But just like you I knew he was the one and dw I'm super cheesy aswell 😂 and that's really nice. At least your spending alone time together. Going out to restaurants and stuff is nice but there are alternatives which I've found sometimes work out better and are cheaper x

@mum2sky, yeah restaurants are really over priced sometimes don’t get me wrong once in a while it’s a nice thing to do but you could probably buy all the ingredients yourself and more and it would work out cheaper. Sometimes we would rent a dvd on sky, get some popcorn and pretend we are in the cinema 😊. The really annoying thing is when I have managed to get a sitter and we have gone out I feel so guilty about leaving the kids and end up coming home earlier so I can’t really win lol x

@sarahlucindagiddins it's probably because you're not used to leaving them, but maybe next time just remember they're okay and they are older so I'm sure they're fine. It's important you unwind aswell. It's not like you're doing it every day, but I guess no matter how old they are you will always worry and feel a bit guilty x And the sky thing is actually a really good idea. I've found since having my daughter I get bored of films now lol can't sit through one it's so annoying x
