What am I supposed to do when someone keeps disrespecting you, keeps doing whatever THEY want to do, and parenting my child in a way I dont want them parented like.. I want my child to feel loved not the second they aren't listening (in this case going to sleep) they get slapped in the leg. When I have repeatedly told this person do not go right to something like that. Because in my opinion that's the easy way out for the parent.

And my son is very much Adhd and extremely hard to control when he's off his medication and looses focus every 2 minutes. And he can't handle it sometimes. He thinks differently. My son is a lot like me when I was that age so I feel for him and try to understand with him. He is still like me when it comes to personality wise. When he can't handle it I just wish he'd let me parent him. I can't handle it sometimes either but I never quit and walk away from him mumbling something making my son more stressed and feeling left. I deal with it because I love him
@mommabear538 he freaks out if I say "my son" or anything like that because he sees him like his own child and treats him that way. Which I understand that and I love that, but he also has to understand I don't want my child raised a certain way. Even the one he's about to be the biological father of. It's just what it is.
@nicolem10021, but that doesn't work on every kid. Especially a kid who didn't have it before boyfriend came into the picture. If talking didn't work, personally I'd give my husband ultimatum if he tried that with my 10 year old who is not biologically his.
@mommabear538 boyfriend who's like a father role model. I do talk to him about it but he either steps back completely after awhile. Then when he thinks I need help he'll jump in or he'll ask if I need his help. But when it all comes down to it he'll flip out and say he's scared of even parenting mateo because of me. That happens at least once every 4 months or so. It used to happen so much more. He just thinks his way is right all the time because he has 2 kids that are 15 and 17. Not biologically his but he took care of them till recently. So we get in arguments about that sometimes. I feel he compares my son to his kids. And I hate that
Is it your husband/boyfriend or mom/MIL? It sounds like maybe not a temperament issue but that's the way they were parented so thats what they are going to Do? But I definitely agree with @tyrellp, have a calm talk and discuss what you are both comfortable with, going to sleep is no reason to try and "discipline" a child like that. Yes I used quotations because thats what most people who do that say it is. There are non-abusive ways to get a child to do what you want them to, so you don't have to result to popping them in the thigh.

his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Trigger. Lost baby
Went in for my 20 week check up and found out our son had passed away. Nothing was wrong, my pregnancy has been going great. I'm so numb right now. I'll he delivering him later this week. I don't want to do this. I don't want to do this. Not before Christmas. How am I'm going to tell my kids?? My dear sweet baby boy. Why did this happen?
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
I find it very alarming when we see for MONTHS “My husband doesn’t want another child”...”He wants to wait”...”he won’t have sex with me”....and then you keep trying to conceive anyways and when you do get pregnant ask us all a cute way to announce it to him? This is entrapment....conceiving behind someone’s back then unveiling it as a gift seems so incredibly disturbing to me..

I Have a question mommies I’m a First Time Mom and everyone keeps saying when my baby get here there gonna take my baby but I don’t trust people like that and I promise I’m not trying to be mean but I don’t want anyone to have a my baby and I know people are going to ask so my question is How do you say no without being mean ?🤔 I don’t even plan on letting my child spend the night with people when he gets older it’s just so much happen to me as a kid and I don’t want that for my baby
