Have any moms on here been induced before? If so would you mind telling me about your experience? I just want to know what to expect when I get induced on Sunday.
@ashhmx3 I was induced with my son at 37 weeks due to a leak in the amniotic sac. I was already 3 or 4 cm dilated when I got to L&D & they started the pitocin around 11am. By early afternoon I still wasn't feeling any hard contractions or dilating any further so they increased dosage 2 or 3 times & by 7/8pm I was in hard, active labor. I didnt have an epidural & it was an intense experience I have to say. My baby boy was born around 11:40pm.
@ashhmx3 I was induced with both. Cervidil at night first and a pitocin drip to get things going by morning as I dilated more.. Nothing got unbearably painful until my water broke. When my water broke, it was on. Not long after that I gave birth but the worst part by far was after water broke. Thats when it really became unbearable but before then i remeber thinking hmm.. this is bad but I can handle it.. until a few hours later 😂 Dont get me wrong it was all terribly uncomfortable and painful constantly getting checked over and over and the contractions pressing on close together but by far the closer he got to making his arrival the worse it got.
@mrsdejean32, okay that makes me feel a little better. My doctor told me she was going to use Cervidil to induce me. Was your labor long once you were induced with the Cervidil?
I was induced 3 times 2 times with pitocin once with cervidil pitocin was the worst those contractions were hard and labor lasted about eight hours cervidil was a little slower little more gentle the contractions were more natural like not as much pain
