3 in 4 people have hpv and don't know it. Managing stress can help you to not have break outs. Just read up on it.

I had that with my second pregnancy it went away on its own... my baby came out fine..and no synptoms

@1tobarjuanita14, oh I see... Can you ask them to wait until after pregnancy? Because they can't do anything you don't want to. If it's cancerous, it won't hurt your baby anyway because there's no way you would be able to get treatment while pregnant either I think

@courtney.welsh, yes same here I've had it for my other pregnancies and they were never concerned till now n only because I have a new dr. The obgyn I had for over 10 years was never concerned about it b4 I don't understand y this new dr feels different about it even tho its never been an issue

@1tobarjuanita14, you can tell him before hand that if he feels the need to do a biopsy you'd like to wait until after you have the baby

On my last pap smear I had HPV but I was told I was too young and I shouldn't have gotten a pap smear anyway. So I got the hpv shot and that was that. And then now that I'm pregnant I told them I had an abnormal pap smear before but they don't seem concerned. And it can only cause cervical cancer. And actually a lot of people have it and don't know it. I'm almost 32 weeks pregnant and my baby is very healthy. Nothing to worry about.

If they see something abnormal and want to do a biopsy just tell them you want to wait until after your pregnancy. My doc said they'd only do a biopsy if they saw something really concerning, but that was unlikely. I had a polyp on my cervix

If you're only having a colposcopy they will only look at your cervix with a microscope. A biopsy is when they take a sample from your cervix. Usually they won't when you're pregnant. I had a colposcopy when I was pregnant, no biopsy tho.

Colposcopy isn't a biopsy or anything it's pretty much just like a papsmear except they don't swab you they just look inside you with a microscope. If they see something then they'll do a biopsy but usually they don't do that part when you're pregnant

I don't think it can hurt the baby but since they're literally taking a chunk out of your cervix it can't be good. Worst case scenario you have cancer. Cool, so then you gotta get treatment while pregnant? NAH. Up to you but I find it unnecessary right now.

@kambam, really? See that's my fear that it harms the baby I had hpv with my 2 yr old but my dr then said it was nothing to be concerned about and now that I have a new dr they want it done n I'm so scared for the baby

Its uncomfortable but not awful. I've had hpv for years 😑 they wanted me to get another when I was pregnant but I refused and my OB agreed that was best. So, I recommend waiting.

@deckroth2001, no hun that's a colonoscopy. A colposcopy is a vaginal biopsy

My husband had one and he said drinking the stuff to make you poop was the worst part of it
