So my baby shower is being planned. What's bugging me is that my side of the family cannot afford to contribute to the payments. My MOL is paying for it all, which makes me feel terrible.
Without having support for the event comes a budget. Also meaning inviting my side of the family cannot happen because they all have children. That will add on and go over the budget.
My family most likely won't have the money to pay for a sitter in order to attend, or they will take offense to their kids not being invited and not want to come. Which makes me feel worse because they already feel as though I've chosen my SO side of the family over my own...

I know how you feel. Is there children on your so side ? If not you can say it's a grown ups only baby shower I've been to a baby shower like that... Maybe so then it won't be directed towards only your family you can just say you'd like it to be just all the grown ups? Just a suggestion. I'm sure everything will end up being fine!:)
