I have no idea what to do with Brendon! I can't tell if he's ready for food yet, he can hold his head up but can only sit up when I put a pillow behind him, and he's paying so much attention to me and the OH when we're eating, he'll sometimes get irritated and cry out of nowhere while were eating and I'm not sure if it's because he wants our food. Should I try him with food? And if I do what do I start with?? Xx

Thanks @sara-lou86 when we feed him he tries to turn his head away and sticks his tongue out, not sure if that's his way of saying 'I don't want this' or not 🤔 haha, he can't sit up on his own yet, we've got a bumbo seat and he's fine in that I just don't want him to choke on anything because he's not sat up properly x

Watching you eat isn't the only or even the main sign their ready for weaning. Is he happy with his milk? Is he drinking much more and still not satisfied or is he not drinking much at all? Is he grabbing at your food when your eating? I weaned Max at 4 1/2months Because he wasn't taking much milk at all. He made it quite obvious he wanted food 😂 I didn't wean Morgan until 6months because he was happy enough on milk. Their all different and will show you in their own way. If your confident he's ready then maybe try him with a few mouthfuls of pureed veg or baby porridge, see how he gets on. He must be able to sit up confidently as he needs to be able to swallow and process the food properly e.g. not laying in a bouncer. But a highchair or bumbo would be ok. Hope this helps 😊

@rachmyers95, Aweh bless! I bought them when I needed them also, and when you give him a fruit purée or veg Purée give a few spoon fills of he takes it that is you'll soon know if he's ready for food, and if he likes it then keep trying him on the same one then 2 days later try something new so if there's any allergies then you can rule it out straight away and know what it was! Xx

Thank you, I've just saved that picture to my phone so I can show the OH :) The most he's had so far is tiny bits of yoghurt on his dummy and he seems to enjoy that xx

@rachmyers95, they will look as if they are chocking but they are just learning the gag reflexes and it's a new texture, he'll be okay honestly It's all new xx

You could buy the Ella's kitchen pouches just to introduce, then when you know what he loves you can make batches up and freeze them xx
