Rearfacing until 2 or longer no matter height or weight is safest. However each car seat has their own maximum limits and should be followed.

Until at least 2 and 30lbs by law in most states, or when they outgrow their seats requirements. Our seat goes to 40lbs rear facing, so he'll be rear until he hits 40lbs.

So I wonder if your kid is 30lbs and isn't 2 yet still rear face?? because my daughter ain't even one yet and already is pushing 30lbs lol shes 22 lbs
