I can't believe that it's been 10 years since my friends and I survived this accident. I let this day determine how I lived my life for a long time. I had anxiety, ptsd, and have long-term health problems from it. The guy, a friend of our friends, who was driving was taking us on a 2 minute ride down the street to get McDonald's. He lied to my two best friends and I about drinking, he said he hadn't and we were naive enough to believe him. We were sophomores in high school , so 15 and 16. He lied to us about his age. He said he was 17, but he was 22. He also wouldn't let us out of the car when we told him that we were scared and wanted to walk. He wound up crashing us into this building going 70 mph. He got into a lot of trouble that night, even went to jail for a few years. But the toll it took on me and my friends mentally and physically (one of my friends had severe head and brain trauma and is still not the same 😔) will last a lifetime. However, I now look at this horrible crash as an event that changed my life, but not one that defines who I am!

Wow. That is so crazy. It looks like God had plans for you. It's amazing that you all survived.
@chibiytino, I know it's crazy looking! The car literally knocked the building off of its foundation 😳We actually came in from where the person taking the first picture I posted would be standing! We hit the building so hard that it made the car's back end bounce to the other direction. Not sure if any of that makes sense! Basically, the way you would think the car hit based on the way it's sitting, we came in the opposite way.
@lana30319, we actually never saw him again. By the time he was out of jail we had graduated high school. I'm not even sure he lives in that same town. I do forgive him, though. It took years, and a lot of anger to get passed, but I finally realized that he was just a young, stupid boy. One that made a horrible mistake, but a mistake nonetheless! He racked up a bunch of different charges, kidnapping minors being one of them since we begged him to let us out and he wouldn't! So I hoped he's learned from this mistake!
Sorry it had to take a tragic event like that to make a dramatic change in your life. But the greatest part of all is you all survived. I know they are health problems due to that crash. But as part of healing have y'all forgave the man that was driving the SUV and that lied?
Wow 😳 God has plans for you that's why you survived. That's crazy. Scary
Did the car hit the house or the house hut u ? But damm
@aboutellesbabes I agree! And it also show how you have matured and can use that occurrence as your testimony. And how to help other teens who may find themselves in a similar situation. And to share with your kids when they become teens. Cause at that delicate age we all tend to do something stupid that we learn from. Some more than others.
