Just to make sure I did not forget anything (which I do a lot😂)

What is a must have in my hospital/diaper bad for the hospital?

For you : snacks/drinks you like, comfortable clothes that are good for visitors... With easy access if you're going to bf. Old ugly underwear (the kind you don't mind getting blood on) Toiletries (their toilet paper sucks, you will want toothbrush/toothpaste, hairbrush, makeup if you want it, shampoo/body wash, etc) gum/mints/hard candy (for if/when you can't eat). Magazines/book. List of people to tell after baby is born. Your birth plan. Your own pillow, cords for your phones/camera/etc. Socks (non slip kind are best) or slippers. Your breast pump (if bfing, a consultant will come around and help you learn it if you don't know already). Music/ipod and charger. Any meds you're on.

For baby: diapers/wipes, clothes, bottles/milk bags, formula (if using), binki, blanket, carseat, breastfeeding cover (for when guests visit).

Is it rude to not want anyone at the hospital?

Is it rude to not want anyone at the hospital? I was just informed that my MIL wants to be waiting at the hospital so as soon as I pop out the baby she can rush in to be with the baby. I am really a private person and dont really want anyone at the hospital when I give birth (except my husband). I was planning on calling all the family to come to the hospital once I was all cleaned up and ready for visitors. Am I being rude? How do I tell them I dont want visitors a minute after pushing out a baby?! I would like some private time for just my husband & I!
