Anybody have some advice on tricks to help a 2 year old with a cold? She has a stuffy nose and a little cough. No fever but you can tell she isn't feeling her best. I've been giving her Gatorade and pediasure. Pediasure mainly because it is usually difficult to get her to eat especially when she isn't feeling well. And Gatorade because she hates Pedialyte. I called to schedule her an appointment with her pediatrician but turns out when I reapplied her for Medicaid they gave her Magnolia healthcare which is basically the same thing but state funded. Her pediatrician doesn't take that form of Medicaid (lady on the phone said they are working on getting it but haven't yet). So right now my doctor options are the ER or Urgent care and last time at urgent care I didn't feel satisfied with the visit. They don't often deal with children. They didn't do any actual tests for flu or anything they just prescribed antibiotics for a sinus infection. That was months ago though. I feel like since she doesn't have a fever I shouldn't take her to the ER unless it gets way worse. Any tips?

Zarbees has a cold medicine that works wonders also a humidifier will help and if you don't want to do zarbees then a spoonful of honey will help cough it will also help if her throat is hurting and add some foods high in vitamin c you can make a smoothie but I'd use water also I wouldn't do the pedisure as dairy increases milk production but that's my personal opinion it's your child

Put a few drops of eucalyptus oil and lavender oil in the humidifier to help decongest and settle.

Children's Tylenol or Children's Motrin would help her.
