My son has a fever of 103.1 since 7 and the Tylenol hasn't brought it down, I've given him a bath and pedialyte but it's not receding. I called his doctor but waiting on a call back. Should I wait or just go to the ER??

Thanks mommas! I took him in and they lowered. They gave him a more aggressive dose of Tylenol and Motrin.

Is he acting lethargic or off? My oldest son had a 106 fever at 9 months, we took him to the ER, they had to give IV fluid and meds to bring it down, he had an ear infection. They did tell us that some kids can crash at 101 and some kids can be ok at 106, it depends on the body. It's always better to bring them in though. My son also would have febrile seizures, they said it can be caused by the high temp as well as the temp dropping too quickly, they said they don't hurt the brain, but you have to be careful with them. Good luck mama!

@marie_13, I would take him in asap. That's really high and he's little so that can be dangerous. Also because the Tylenol hasn't brought it down.
