how do i break the news to my mom that i'm moving out when i'm 18?
I'm sorry. I would leave too. I hope it all works out for you.
@cassidy11 well you have 2 weeks and 5 days left of their rules. After that you're a legal adult and as long you are stable to move out they can't stop you no matter an excuse they give you, sure its going to hurt their feelings but at the same time you're an adult with a child and have to make responsible decisions for yall.
@armyvet_working_mom_of_4, no i graduated in march.
@hanahmarie2183, i turn 18 the 29th of this month.
@armyvet_working_mom_of_4, no one understands why i want to move out. but in reality i would be MUCH happier living with him and his family. plus, every other week my step dads kids are here and they are ALWAYS sick. coughing and snotting all over the place and i honestly don't want that around my baby.
@cassidy11 let them call you names, it will only hurt them. You are the mom and knows what is best for you, your child and childs father. You just have to ride out their rules until you are 18.
@cassidy11, see that's terrible! Why would they do all that! Are you still in school? Because some school has student welfare where you can live on your own while being in school.
@cassidy11, I'm sorry! That doesn't sound to nice.
@hanahmarie2183, and i've tried to. they just call me white trash.
@armyvet_working_mom_of_4, no, they've told me that once i move out i'm burning bridges. they don't want anything to do with me and won't do anything for me.
@cassidy11 if you know that is bs and hurts you then put your foot down. That doctors office is a public place, your child's father can be there wether your parents want him there or not and they cant stop him. Sure you veing under 18 right now they have a say if you can or cant see him. But at the doctors he can be there and they legally cannot stop him.
@danielswifey, if they loved me they wouldn't call me a piece of shit tbh. but everyone has their opinions.
And she is right... When it comes to his child, your parents can't legally keep him from you or the baby and they can't stop him from coming to your appointment's.
@hanahmarie2183, their excuse was "it's our insurance so if we don't want him here then he can't be". which is bs. it just breaks my heart.
Well when you're 18 you're a legal adult and they can't stop you even if they wanted to. Then the only thing they could do is call child services on you and if the state proves you unfit then you would lose your baby to foster care. I'm from KY and they are a strict state when it comes to the baby and stabability. Now for your parents not allowing your child's father come to your prenatal appointments they technically can't do that. Once you are at the doctors office if your parents dont own it your childs father has just as much right in that office as anyone else and if you tell your doctor you want him in the room your parents can't stop it, thats with any medical facility and hospitals.
@cassidy11 all i'm saying is think about what you're doing. Will things work out with you and your bf, is he going to step up and be a man and provide for you and the baby, are you going to have to get a job once you give birth and heal up, is his family going to help you and be supportive? I'm not trying to sound mean at all i promise, just want you to realize it's a lot to think about and its a huge move to leave your parents. Nobody is ever going to love you more than your parents do, remember that.
@danielswifey, i'm not moving out on my own. i'm moving in with my SO and his family until we can get on our feet. i can't stay with my parents because they won't let him near HIS baby. I want to parent my son together. not from two separate households.
@cassidy11 you're still considered a kid so she is just trying to protect you which you have to understand but once you turn 18 she can't stop you from moving out. Just make sure you make the right decision and know what you're getting yourself in to. Moving out of on your own isn't all that so don't rush it.
@danielswifey, they won't freaking let me! it's so aggravating.
@danielswifey, if she would've let me be around my baby's father from the beginning i don't think i would move out. but my parents haven't let him even come to any of the ultrasounds or doctors appointments and i haven't seen him since March when i graduated. so it's stressful and don't want to hurt my moms feelings. i have such a big heart and i hate that. 😐

Thanks for all the ❤️ guys! I think I'm in shock! Labor story in a bit I'm being attacked with visitors lol
