My 1.5 month old has a cold (virus) stuffy nose, she only coughs when she tries to breath in to hard and is chocking on mucus :( this all started last night. My two older kids (6 and 11) have croup and I have mostly been in my room with baby except to make kids dinner and get them to bed, I was trying to keep baby away from them so she wouldn't get sick. Well I took her to the doctor today and the dr pretty much told me I was a horrible mother for not doing a better job at keeping my kids away from baby and that a virus can easily turn into something else and she could end up in the hospital fighting for her life!! I am now so upset and scared something will happen to my baby :( I hate that she has a cold, I hate that I cant do anything to make it go away :( and I am now paranoid that something is going to happen to my baby 😢😢😢😢😢😢

You should make a complaint on that dr. That's not right that the dr said that. I'm sure she all your kids will get better soon.

My daughter got a cold at 1 month old, dr said I could give infant Tylenol for common cold aches & pains & sore throat. Also recommend a humidifier or vaporizer (I have a $12 Vicks wall plug in & is for babies 10 pounds+ it has rosemary scents that help) & suction out all mucus to help ease breathing. Dont feel bad, it happens. Especially in a house with 2 other sick people. I would invest in Lysol (it kills common cold germs; Lysol everything: door knobs, sink handles, electronics, phone, remote) & a face mask 😷 so u dont get sick & others don't continue to spread their germs..

Not trying to be rude or anything but i would find a new pediatrician for that comment, my son got pneumonia at 1 month old and had it until 5months she sent us to hospitals and everything to get it cured and the neonatologists kept turning him away she then referred us to a pulminologist for it and the pulminologist cured it in just a matter of weeks. But the doctor should be working with you to get her feeling better not make rude comments towards you, babies get sick this time of the year.
