Does it surprise any moms that some woman don't have a clue what's going on when they are in labor? It's like did you not read anything to be prepared for what's going to happen?!
Not to be bitchy, but my newsfeed is full of moms asking about things that by 37 weeks should KNOW "hey! This is a sign I'm in labor"...

Preparing yourself is never the same as actually going through it. Getting closer to their due dates is probably making them nervous and coming here for assurance I assume. I haven't gave birth yet, but assuming a lot of ppl who are asking those questions are most likely first time moms. Not everyone on here has 3-4 kids.

@callher_bunny, I don't have 3 or 4 kids either if you actually look at my profile! 2 of my babies died.
I've only given birth once, but I knew what to look for with labor signs, I asked specific questions about it with my doctor and did independent research and read about what to expect!
When you don't even know that your water broke, because you've been having contractions for several hours and they are finally close together and that you think you need to go #2, THATS THE BABY and you need to get your ass back to the hospital.
It amazes me that so many moms don't know these basic signs of labor! Those guys are seriously in for a life experience with delivery and a child....

Everybody isn't the same . That's why they ask some be thinking it means labor meanwhile they don't go into labor for a week after. It's just to ask other mom if they experience that to make sure they don't wait long etc .

@jaie16, your water breaking is a huge red flag that you need to go into L&D and this chick had no idea. So not only did her doctor fail in informing her on what to expect but he put the baby in harm by not informing her to call as soon as her water broke. And super failed in informing her about what your water breaking will feel like, smell like, look like, etc!
Now, my water didn't break till I was in the hospital and I was dilated to a 10, but I knew what to expect.

I was in labor for like 12 hours & had no idea because my water didn't break or the pain wasn't intense like I would expect. Some people think their water broke & it didnt lol it was just discharge or pee🤦🏽♀️ but people are different you can read & hear what people tell you but until you actually experience it you don't "know" what to expect .

I agree with @jaie16. Everyone is different. My mom didn't have her water break, she just went to the hospital for being really uncomfortable and she had be at 25 weeks, not even knowing that her body was in labor.
Even myself, I can't even describe my contractions, just that something felt funny. It wasn't anything that the doctors could have tried to explain to me.

Yes! Everyone is different but your water breaking is kinda a universal thing that is (aside from leaking amniotic fluid) pretty recognizable.

You know I put this on the venting feed to just be pissy, not get a lecture on shit I already know about!

@ihaveotherpagesbitches1984, you're irrelevant. Even though I don't agree with her post, you have no need to be judging people on their looks. Personally I'd rather have ugly teeth than an ugly attitude... 🐸☕️

I am a first time mom, and I know basic signs to look out for, but I honestly have no idea what I'm doing. I didn't even know I was having Braxton Hicks until another mother told me that's what my discomfort was. Just because I know what to look for doesn't mean it will actually happen... And technically, your water can break weeks before you actually go into labor.

Sometimes it's just the nerves and anxiety that makes people ask just to be sure. It's not necessary that they don't know it's just all overwhelming 🙂

@mari_c, thank you for not bashing me for one, and yes, that makes sense!

@sadiesue0718 yes mam!
