I need some advice. So I have a half brother, sister in law and niece I don't talk to. My brother and his wife butt heads a lot with my sister & mom. My brother doesn't get along great with my dad sometimes, but they're okay. So I miss them, I had reached out to my sister in law and want to meet up with them. My mom and sister are throwing a fit, they think because they got into a fight with them that I can't have anything to do with them. They tell me that I'm betraying my family by being okay with them. Im 19, engaged, have a baby, I just want to put an end to petty drama. Should I feel guilty about it?

Honest opinion am I overreacting....so my mother in law and sister in law didn't call my son on his birthday on Wednesday. Yet they knew it was his 2nd birthday. I was so upset and hurt because we've lived with them so I considered them like my actual family. My mom threw a surprise party for my son that night it was literally only my sister,brother,mom and aunt and one of my friends and of course us. Well my mom decided to go fb live with us singing happy birthday. My mother in law comments that why didn't we tell her anything so I tell my mom if she really cared she would've called him to say something.Even family members that I don't talk to often messaged him a video singing to him! So the next day I receive a message from my sister in law asking me why I didn't invite them. I then explained that either of them called to tell him anything. So then she was like well you could've still invited us and then I explained that it wasn't my right to do anything since it was my brother sister and mother throwing it for him! So then I told her that they were more than welcome to throw him anything if they truly wanted to needles to say they were mad because they weren't invited to my son's surprise party. And I apparently should've told them to call my son super frustrating. Well I'm so glad my family loves my son and spoils him they do everything for him so I am truly blessed. Just gets me upset because birthdays are a big deal in my family.

Does anyone like their in laws? With all the posts about terrible in laws I was just wondering if anyone actually likes their in laws?!?! I love me in laws. I'm blessed to have such a wonderful immediate and extended family. My mil loves spending time with my boys. She comes over at least once a week and will sleep over. She gets up with the boys in the morning and let's my husband and I sleep in. My fil is a great man also. He's always coming over to visit and do some odd jobs around the house (my husband is not handy at all lol). So anyone else have great in laws?? I figured I'd ask so we can talk positively about our in laws!!!
