I know what did mine. His father was playing "Outlast" a horror video game on PS4 and he had a glance of it that day while hanging out with us. He is 4 years now he hasn't had any episodes since then but we learned quick anything, even for a second will stay with them.
My youngest son did too between 6 months & 12 months. He would literally have night terrors. I just made sure he would watch colorful cartoons before bed & not allow him to watch anything scary or thrilling on TV during the day.
