How accurate do you think doctors are when looking at ultrasounds? The doctor (not technician) said my cord looked a little thick. However he thinks it's just stuck together. He said a thick cord could indicate genetic disorders BUT the thickness behind baby's neck does NOT indicate DS etc. I got blood taken (NIPT) because he wanted to be sure. Now i'm nervous :(

I would trust the bloodwork more than the ultrasound. Just wait on the results and pray.

Ultrasounds are so complex. Dr's go on worst case scenario. My sons cord was super thick because he was a big baby. He was 9 lbs 1.7 oz and his placenta was the size of my first born. (6 lbs) so the cord was very thick. My ex had trouble cutting it. Don't worry too much. See what the blood work says. 🙂🙂

@morganmommy79, did the cord look thick from beginning to end? i'm only 12 weeks 5 days

@taylorg, I only had 2 ultrasounds. One at 3 months and one at 9. He's 13 so back then they didn't even do NST's and you only got 1 ultrasound. So I have no idea.
