What is the tdap shot for my doctor told me I should get it but I feel like it's pointless

It's for whooping cough and is pointless.

The tdap shot is a vaccine for tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough) and I think something else but I'm not sure what. If you aren't against vaccines I would get it. It helps to prevent you from getting something that could be really dangerous to a new baby and the antibodies will pass to the baby too to protect him/her. I got it and also made everyone in my family get it haha

When I was less then a year old I got whooping cough, after days of my mom taking me to hospitals and dr office... after I turned blue and couldn't breathe the hospital finally kept me and told my mom if she would have waited any longer to bring me in I would have die on her... for FOUR hours my mom had to hold an O2 mask over my face until they got a tent around me to help with my breathing. I didn't think twice about getting that shot.

To this comment^^ don't let that get your decision, the baby is never safe until it comes out really. Wether it be from a vaccine, a medication subscribes to you by your dr, your body rejecting the baby, or just the baby ends up passing away due to other complications in the womb. Your baby is never 100% safe so if you want to take the vaccine then take it, if not then don't.

I got it at 29 weeks , Anything to protect baby . Baby is perfect 👌🏾

@marieebaby my doctor hasn't even mentioned it to me and I will be 38 weeks tomorrow. They might after i have the baby, but I'm not worrying about it either.
