I SERIOUSLY wish I knew about sleep training babies by 3-4 months. Like my 9 month old still refuses to sleep through the night. She still wakes up on average of 5 times. Her new pediatrician said she should have been taken off the 3 hour feeding schedule at night when she was at least two weeks old. I've been sleep deprived for 9 months because I just thought I was supposed to keep her on that schedule and now she's stuck to it /:
I had the nutritionist look at me like I was nuts the other day because I told her when my 6 month old wakes up at night I don't give her a bottle. I let her know im there, maybe comfort her a bit and she goes back to sleep. Keeps her from fully waking and wanting to stay up
You can change her schedule. It'll take a couple of weeks, but stick to the new routine and she'll adapt.
Ugh, idk how you did 9 months alone....I hope you are able to find a replacement for her and she starts sleeping for ya!
@scidg3, unfortunately SO doesn't wake up with her. He leaves that up to me because he wakes up at 5 am for work and can't be bothered to lose sleep over it 😒
Doesn't sound like she is going hungry 😂 hehe Maybe she will do good for you.... Maybe if you have a SO they can help soothe so her regular milk machine isn't the one going in and she gets disappointed 😃 Good luck mama!! @martinajjones
@scidg3, she eats lunch and dinner. Sometimes she refuses her waters so she gets both her food and another bottle of formula lmao. Her doctor says she's just feeding at night because she got used to night time feeds and does it for comfort. So I guess that's my only option is to let her cry it out. Or keep on this schedule and never get any sleep with it
Does she eat dinner or refuses all meals? Maybe offer smaller amounts before meals and larger bottles before naps? Awe, are you going try to let her cry it out? @martinajjones
@scidg3, then she wakes up at 1030, 1230, 230, 430,and 630 for her night time feeds. And she drinks anywhere from 4-8 ounces for those
My son is almost 5 months and eats every 3 hours, I bf so I just let him feed on demand.
@scidg3, she gets her first bottle at 8 when she wakes up, she refuses breakfast(always has her doctor says she will grow out of it) so she gets her second bottle at 10 (she only drinks 6 ounces at a time!) lunch is at 12/1230 and she drinks 4 oz of water with it. She gets another bottle at her 4 o'clock nap. Dinner is at 6ish and she gets another 4 oz of water with that. And then she gets her bedtime formula at 8/830
@lifewithlynniejade88, yeah I used to try that but it NEVER worked for my daughter. She would still wake up. Back when she was like 5/6 months she was waking up about 6 or 7 times at night. When she had rice cereal or oatmeal she woke up even more than that! So I stopped doing that real quick lmao
@scidg3, she just told me to let her cry it out and stop night time feeds. She wakes up at 730/8 in the morning and takes her first nap at 1130/12. Second nap is at 4 and then bedtime is 830. She won't go to bed earlier than that. I've tried and tried but 830 seems to work best for her. Her doctor said her day time schedule seems fine. I just have to let her cry at night time
Did your doctor give you some advice on how to change her schedule? What's her schedule like during the day? @martinajjones
@keirasmomma, I try that with Willow but it doesn't work. She won't sleep unless I give her a bottle. She will be awake crying for hours. It's the worst
