I just cut her hair. She's 3 1/2. Took 3in off

We recently cut my daughter's hair, but only to give her bangs. She hates her hair being brushed and literally crumples to the floor crying. But now her bangs are too long again so I'm not sure if I should trim them or just force her to have her hair up
