So my next ob appointment I'll be 10 weeks and 4 days.. do you think my ob will use the Doppler to get the baby's heart beat or is it too early? ( I didn't go to the ob with my son till I was 10 weeks and I got an ultrasound that day and my annual and then went back a month later and that was basically my first actual prenatal visit so I was like 14 weeks with him)
@malainaheka23, it took us till I was like 30 weeks with my son to decide on a name😂
Same here! We just want one boy and a girl lol and we thought of our girl and boy names when I was 8 weeks. 😂🤷🏻♀️
@malainaheka23, lol well start thinking of names once we find out the gender. My boyfriend knew my son was a boy from the start and he claims that this one is a girl so we'll see! Praying it is cause then we'll most likely be done haha
Oh wow, what a miracle! And that's pretty much how I feel lol I want a girl, but I have a gut feeling I'm having a boy so I have both girl and boy names picked out just in case! Haha
@malainaheka23, yes hoping for a girl!! lol everyone is saying it'll be a girl but I told them the shush cause there gonna jinx me 😂😩😩 but preparing myself for a boy too tho. And yeah she only has Down syndrome cause my aunt was older and she had the iud in when she got pregnant so basically my cousin wasn't suppose to happen lol!
I don't have the blood test option because my family history is clean I guess. 🤷🏻♀️ lol but that's awesome! Are you hoping for a girl since you already have a boy? lol
@malainaheka23, once your 12 weeks the baby's dna is in your blood so it is 100% accurate! And I was gonna go to baby moments at 14 weeks like I did with my son anyways but my dr told me about this blood test so I'm gonna do that instead. I'm also getting it to test for Down syndrome cause my cousin on my dads side has Down syndrome
@kaela3, omg, lucky!!!! I don't get to find out the sec of my baby for another 6 weeks, and I'll be 18 weeks than. 🙈 My midwife just wants it to be 100% accurate on the ultrasound I guess. 🤷🏻♀️
@malainaheka23, I'm going too, and I'm getting blood work done at 12 weeks to find out the sex 😊😊😊 as of tomorrow 3 more weeks!
That's awesome! So glad that everything is okay!! I'd definitely ask your OB to see if you can try and hear the heartbeat at your next appointment. Especially if your appointment afterwards is 4 weeks from then. lol I have to wait 6 more weeks for my next appointment/ultrasound to find out the sex. And for me, that is just way too long! 😅
@malainaheka23, and I just had an ultrasound on Thursday and everything looks good
@malainaheka23, yes it's the same dr. And I didn't go and get blood work done with my son till I was like 10 weeks that's why I only had one appointment lol. But with this I went early cause of my spotting
@kaela3, is this the same doctor? You have to have at least 1 prenatal visit in your first trimester to make sure the baby is okay. 14 weeks is the second trimester lol It doesn't hurt to ask to hear your own baby's heartbeat. 😊
@malainaheka23, right my dr did the heart beat every time with my son but I didn't have my first actual appointment till I was 14 weeks
@kaela3, if I were you, before you leave your appointment (if your OB doesn't mention listening to the heartbeat) just ask if she can try and find it... i'm sure at 10 weeks it should be possible. And it definitely doesn't hurt to ask. I know when I went in last week I was bummed out that I didn't get another ultrasound so I asked if my boyfriend and I could hear the heartbeat and she had no problem with it. She actually forgot about it so it was a good thing I asked her haha 😂 but it was definitely something I needed to hear to assure me that everything and baby was okay. 😅
@malainaheka23, my first appointment aside from my last one when she checked me down there lol and then I got blood work and set up my ultrasound.. I go back September 7th. I was only like 6 weeks when I went the first time
@kaela3, lol that's exactly what my midwife did when I went in at 8 weeks 😂 she asked me how I was doing, and if I want to continue my pregnancy. After that I waited 20 minutes and she scheduled me a sonogram for two days later and sent me to get blood work done and then sent me home. I didn't go back till I was 12 weeks and that's when I got to hear the baby's heartbeat. It might be different for you though since you're going at 10 weeks. Is this going to be your first appointment?
@malainaheka23, I don't really know what she's gonna do at my appointment then lol 😂 ask how I'm doing and then just leave lmao nothing else to do
It really depends on the OB and their ability to find a heartbeat that early. It's definitely possible, it might be a little faint, but still possible. It's just more clear to hear at 12 weeks.
@juliaschade41, with my son I remember I got the hear it at 14 weeks on the Doppler I just don't want to wait till my next appointment a month after my next one to hear it I guess lol
@kaela3 depends on baby and his/her position. I had to wait until I was 12 weeks. Even then there was no heart beat cuz the baby was in a bad position. So i had to wait until 16 weeks!
@malainaheka23, hmm ok I guess I'll have to see what she does then. I've known of people finding there baby's heart beat 9 weeks on a Doppler
10 weeks could be too early to hear your baby's heartbeat on the Doppler. 12 weeks is when it's a better chance. I went in at 12 weeks and we could hear our baby's heartbeat perfectly!

Should be about 10 weeks today! And I have my first appt with my OB in an hour!
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.

10 weeks 4 day appointment !! I can't believe how much baby grew in just a week!! It was so active, doing flips on ultrasound and trying to hide its face. This is the best picture I got ! Love my little acrobat !!!
I wanted to ask a question regarding pregnancy Medicaid. Any rude comments will be blocked. So I called today and they said all the paper work can take 30 days to process. I counted and that would be August 30th and I'll be 17 weeks. I know the ob dont normally take women after 20 weeks. My social service building is so slow, so I have been going to the clinic one a month for checkups. I am worried I won't get an ob in time. Any advice or did anyone have trouble with the Medicaid, I dont know wh...
So someone contacted me waiting me to watch her son four days a week for $150/wk. I had to tell her that even if someone worked for $10/hr it only pays for a day and a half in my opinion?
I mean maybe I’d do it for $300? But the $150 I just can’t see if being worth it to me
@malainaheka23, cause we couldn't agree on something lol
