That's how I feel. I wanna move back to Cali, because its too tiring here. I have never seen so my separation, and it's dumb. Get with 2017 people. Like my bff isn't white, and she came and visited. We got so many looks, and wasn't even funny. On both freaking sides. One person asked me who she was, and I said she's my sister. She said the same thing. Lord. The south sucks. Only thing I like is riding the back roads, and fresh air. Lol

Yes. Cali guard is a little more laid back. We all do, but some of these southern people act like we don't. So stupid.

I was that girl from Cali who well had an accent. This dude when it was like my third drill in my unit, came up and told me. I'm not a (not so nice word for the black race), and I needed to start acting white. Because this is Alabama. Needless to say after he said that my team member walked in, saw my face. And was gonna beat the shit out of him when I told them. My supply was maybe two white people including myself. He didn't even belong in our tent. Urgh. But with every asshole someone has your back in there. Just speak up. I can say it's an experience you may not want to pass up, because that may be your regret.

@momofroyalty2, some people do regret it. However treat come from the attitude you put out. Like I said. There is those assholes still in, more so if you live in the south. In that case, those idiots don't need to join. I think personally, with your attitude you will do fine. Shiit most the black girls I knew, didn't get messed with. No one even noticed their race to be honest, and I live in Alabama. But see now my husbands unit seems more separated, and they don't realize it. Then you have my husband who doesn't care, and talks to everyone. Now my unit in Cali, has every race in it. It's not all bad! Maybe she met the bad apple like I did! Ruined the whole unit for me.

Girl. My husbands first sgt is black. The first sgt I had when I was in is black, and the master sgt of my old unit is black. My husbands 1st sgt ain't no joke, she is a very strong female. Fun thing about the military, especially army. Is there is no race, there's only green. You will run into those asshats, but that's every where. The majority see green.

@momofroyalty2 yea my cousin has no kids and has a masters n they look at me like oh she about to have three kids 🙄😑 its so annoying. Yet I'm the only one who take care of my mom been her caregiver for almost 5years and I'm the youngest and only girl. Smh

@missmama92, after my mom passed my siblings and aunt as far as family besides my husband and kids are all I have and my maternal grandparents so I didn't wanna piss them off and make em mad but I mean I wanna do this for myself I wanted to at 18 but I had my kids and cared for them then at 21 my mom died which set me back now I'm 22 and I'm like okay I'm ready

If you wanna do it do it over the years I listen to alot of people about alot of things

Well that's crazy , I would enlist now frankly with all these wars and war rumors going on . I believe in none of them . But that's me. Your family is probably just worried .
