Who got the blood test that tells gender and also tests to check for Down syndrome? How accurate is the gender part? And…

The blood test for gender is pretty much super accurate. They can't say 100% bc it's your blood, not the babies, but it tests for the chromosomes, if you test and have the Y chromosome our having a boy... bc well, your a female and don't have that chromosome (that's the way it was explained to me). The genetics portion is pretty accurate too. They don't give you a yes or no answer, but more give you a ratio for the likelihood of the syndrome. If you test at a higher ratio they may suggest additional testing. With my first we did the screening, it was a boy and no problems! With my second we did testing, it was a boy and didn't show any elevated risk.... however, my son has a heart problem that can be linked to a few syndromes. I did an amnio and the amnio confirmed that he did NOT have DS, and he did not have another syndrome that is linked to his condition that could not be tested in the blood test. Hope that helped! I did the blood gender test with My first pregnancy I loved finding out what I was having but then regretted it a week later due to having a miscarriage!
