Ok so I'm asking for a friend. She went to the ER for abdominal pain. They did an ultrasound and called her today and told her the ultrasound showed an empty sac and her hcg levels are low. She started lightly bleeding today and the ER dr told her it's not a viable pregnancy. The only thing is she isn't supposed to start her period for 9 days. Thoughts? I mean wouldn't she be too early to know if the pregnancy is viable or not?

It is WAY too early to see anything. It's still the size of microscopic cells. She won't be able to see anything until hcg is at least 1500-2000 which she hasn't even missed her period yet. Shoot how'd she even know she was pregnant this early anyway?

@dianne0825 I have a friend who has pcos too and is trying to have a baby. She's also very overweight which complicates things even more, but she's not giving up. It can happen💖

@juliaschade41 yea which makes this so hard on her, I can have children and she has PCOS and was told she may never have children. I feel so helpless on what I can do to help her 😢😢
- I see why it would be confusing. Since she still as a week and some change before her period would be missed. Seeing a yolk sack could mean everything's normal? Levels low or high. I'm sure the ER doc isn't wrong. But I get how it can be misleading .. I'm sorry for whatever is going to happen. Loss is never easy to deal with.
@juliaschade41 it's actually my twin sister. Which is my friend lol. She said she's ok and I know she's not I just can't get her to talk without me crying which makes her cry, so I'm absolutely no help to her

@dianne0825 i think the period whether it was coming or behind her, doesn't matter. You can get pregnant and show high or low levels of hcg whether or not the state of your period. Because she was pregnant, the period never would have came anyways, so its irrelevant. I'm really sorry she's going through this. I had a miscarriage myself last year.😢
@lexipooh24 I'm so sorry! It is never easy and harder than anything else. I've had 4 miscarriages but every one of mine they saw a baby but no heartbeat so I'm just having a hard time wrapping my head around this because her period is still a week and few days away which is why I'm so confused
