How old should a child be before you let them go in a swimming pool??? My husband wants to take our 2 month old swimming when we go see his family week after next.

I started swimming when I was like 4-5 weeks old! The pool was heated, so my mom took me when she'd swim! I know that there are swimming classes for babies... just not sure how old they are when the start!

6 months in a public pool, 3/4 in personal pool... infants don't have a strong immune system so you want them to be able to fight off any infections. You can always check with your doctor by a quick phone call too.

We have a pool in our back yard and we started pur son in it when he was 3 months old but only after making sure all the levels were correct for a baby, its hot as hell hwre so our water stays warm
