Okay moms I have a serious question!!! 10days ago my sons doctor said it was okay to give him some rice due to the fact that he was up every 45 mins thru out the night. I have him just one bottle the bottle was a 5 oz bottle and it had about a quarter of a oz of rice. Every since that one bottle my son has not pooped on his own. Every night I make him poop. Keep in mind his poop is not hard. Is it time to take him to the doctor? Or is there something that I can do to fix this problem?

Ask your dr about probiotic they might help.

@jada.weidner.jw, Its just him not used to the rice cereal. If he's straining to poop, ask your pedi about giving him the tiniest amount of apple or prune juice to help him go.

@theinkedmommy, yes I see that now, I only have him one bottle and it messed his tummy up.

@jada.weidner.jw, Not telling you how to parent but the rice is just empty calories and has been proven not to work to get infants to sleep longer. It's mainly used for babies with bad acid reflux. The rice may be making him constipated.

Yeah I would just because he needs time to adjust you will go through the same thing when you start baby food

He's just not use to the rice yet try to give him something for constipation eventually his body will adjust to it and it will be ok
