Register, pre op which included them asking questions, surgery scrub down, attaching baby to monitor starting an iv and antibiotics. Then I walked to the or and they gave me a spinal. Was there at 6 am my daughter was born at 9:01 am.

You have to sign papers and prep for surgery. A lot of them get delayed due to emergency c sections coming in.

You'll get an iv put in, you'll have to put a gown on and a cap. They'll administer the epidural and such. Once it's all prepped it takes about 30 minutes and it's done.

I'm not experienced, so I could be wrong, but maybe it's to make sure all your paper work is done and to have enough time to get you prepped.
