I went through this we originally had chosen my brother and my husband's best friend. Turns out my brother has no interest in even holding his neice and his best friend dropped him because he would rather stay at home with the baby than go out.

@emily526 dude yesterday I was scared to walk home from work because of some pain I was having, so we called the God dad (husbands best friend) tell me why this mf had a whole story on why he couldn't and he said he didn't have gas even after we offered money, then when I messaged his girl, she got all mad at me and then she says "well you guys let us know last minute" I'm like how in the fuck is it last minute if it was 2 hours before I got off when we told you! But we got into a whole argument all four of us and now they want to apologize and say I hope this doesn't make you not want me as the God father and I was like bro i been knew you weren't ready to take on the responsibility gtfoh!!!!

Right? It's a responsibility and if you're not ready to take it on than say so! We chose my husband's brother instead who absolutely loves our daughter and spoils her and just loves to be with her. And then my best friend who I've known since middle school even though she lives far away she keeps me sane. I'm like wow lesson learned. My brother is afraid of babies and his best friend is an ass.

That's crazy, honestly I would tell him look you obviously aren't ready for this responsibility so you either need to work on that or we will find someone else. And that's true if she felt badly about it she would've came and apologized and told you she knows she was wrong etc.
