Can/would CPS get involved for a child with bad/cavity and rotten teeth?
Friend said that she went to dentist and a few days later CPS did a welfare check? And is now being investigated? Idk seems off but then again idk anything about it...anyone work with social services? Is that a form of neglect? Sounds more like poor hygiene? Her child is 5 btw or is going to be 5 this month.
She's freaked out but told her she shouldn't be if noting is wrong. Can anyone give advice or kinda explain how CPS is actually works in situations like this? We are in California if it makes a difference.
I meant to mean I don't see poor dental hygiene as a reason for cps. I usually thought they try to focus mostly on cases that deal with abuse but im not educated on how the system works.
@jennatess, he does have bruises but only because he skateboards and it's mostly on his shins, he did scrape his chin once and hit the curb and had slight cut eye and bruise but that was months ago...and I know all this because I was there when he fell and also she's constantly posting videos of him riding his board. She was in room and she said the doctor scolded her about his teeth and what not and said she was wrong for letting him do it on his own. Then again I only see her every so often and what they post on social media doesn't always show life behind closed doors 😓 her child is sweet and intelligent. I feel something is off and she doesn't want to mention it. I don't see rotten teeth, which they don't look rotten btw she sent picture of his teeth and I can see some decay on gum line on molars and a bit yellow on the front. So idk I want to ask but I don't want to be mean
Does the child have any bruises? Or maybe the mom wasn't in the room for the check-up ask the kid asked the doctor for help?
Has anyone else thought of this nonsense with her being weird, not having consistent information etc. as seeming a whole lot like the beginning of Glee with the fake pregnancy?!

CPS doesn't aim to take your child. They don't want to, they want the child to be in a safe environment. They have to take any call serious, true or not. The social worker was right, as long as she isn't doing anything wrong then her child won't be taken.
