Anyone breastfeed after having surgery? I will have anesthesia and I've heard that once it wears off I should be fine to breastfeed but I've also been told to pump and dump for 24 hrs! I'm 1 year PP so there is no way I am going to pump and dump but I really don't want to stop breastfeeding either!

Before your surgery talk to the anesthesiologist about it. Or the hospital staff at at pre-op appointment. I went under during a d&c and I didn't bother pumping or waiting to nurse my son and he was a year and a half old at the time of my surgery. I don't think you ever have to do the dump part, you could always use that milk for a milk bath if they say the meds you'll be on won't be safe for breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding moms: so I am planning on going on a 3 day vacation with my hubby & a bunch of friends to Catalina in May, (my baby won't be going with us) and I do not wanna be pumping and dumping every 2 hours out there.. so if I don't pump or breastfeed for 3-4 days, will my milk supply drop significantly? 😩😩 & I don't know how I'm gonna deal with the engorgement pain if I can't find time to pump out there.
