@district1988, nipple cream, cloth breast pads, boppy and at least 2 covers plus one waterproof one to protect it I love mine bc at 13m were still using it when he was little he fit to nurse and still does today helps back a lot and your arms also once baby is learning to sit up it's good to help and when they are tiny and need a little elevation it's good. If u plan to pump after one month of establishing supply u will want a hands free bra and milk storage, also good quality nursing bras. Mattress protector for crib bc baby will spit up pee whatever don't wanna ruin mattress. All these things people seem to not gift. Also will u b using cloth diapers I recommend them we have a great group here on mom life otherwise u will need a crap load of disposable. Things people tend to like gifting bouncer swing angel care tub halo swaddle sack is great, lots of giant I say burp towels lol don't buy reg burp rags they are too small. Socks onesies blankets.
Things that are wasteful
If ur staying home and nursing bottles and paci are big waste of money.
Advanced toys for nb they don't need toys till about 2.5months and even then they don't need many till about 7m when they r mobile.
Baby seats you baby will set up when ready don't wish baby to grow up fast
@district1988 I had to stop breastfeeding so her jaundice levels would drop. It was only supposed to be temporarily and I pumped in the mean time but I started not producing as much and I couldn't figure out how to get supply up. I've heard not wearing a bra helps.
But I know some supplies I didn't think of for myself were nipple cream and pads so you don't leak everywhere.
@momofgirls1517, awesome! I'm a new mom who's been around a ton of moms so although the cute first things are ok, I want practical items as my baby shower gifts and they're affordable. What did you do for highchairs??
@district1988 that is awesome! When we first brought her home she had to be under a bili light because she had jaundice. Then after that she liked sleeping in the swing and sometimes the bassinet. We eventually got to where we used the bassinet until she was 4 months. Then we moved her crib in our room and started using it.

Sleepers were a life saver for us when she was a newborn because she was born in November. She wore mostly sleepers during the winter.
