I would wait until the older one can be more self sufficient. Like 3 or 4 years.

We wanted ours to be close (but not crazy close), so when jr. hit about 18 months, we didn't "try", but we stopped being careful and just let it be in God's hands. Let's see Jr. will be almost 2 years and 4 1/2 months on our due date. And we couldn't be happier with that 😊 he's doing a lot on his own now and he'll be doing even more in feb! Hopefully they'll still be close enough where they can play together and be friends!

I decided to have my first set close in age because I wanted the oldest to always "have someone" if you will. Share toys, clothes if need be. If we go on vacations both can enjoy things together instead of one being too young/small while they other is alone doing their thing. Close in school, and school activities, sports, etc. I'm thrilled to have my boys in age. Plus I'm basically just staying in the newborn atage for a good two years, rather than catch a break, them BAM, right back into late nights and diaper changing. lmfao

@clara_eakin I had my two oldest 13 months apart and my son two years after that and it WAS NOT enough time in between. I had three kids in diapers. it was a mess
