Is Celexa safe to take during pregnancy? I've had really bad depression to the point everything makes me cry even the thought of havin to wear glasses makes me cry and I've wore them for years. I didnt get to ask my dr before they closed so askin here
i'm getting my baby circumcised tomorrow & it makes me so sad. i want to do it but i don't want to see him hurting :( makes me cry every time i think about it

for my super emotional sensitive pregos out there are you having a boy or a girl? im just curious cause with my daughter i was super mean and not sensitive at all normal things that wohld make me cry didnt with her but so far with this pregnancy everything makes me sad or cry lol
3 days vs 7 weeks... this makes me wanna cry almost..

Ya definitely Zoloft. Not celexa. It's connected to birth defects.

I cant take zoloft my psychiatrist I went to prescribed me Celexa and knew I was pregnant

yes, I was on Lexapro and when I found out I was pregnant , my OB switched me to Celexa , been on it the whole time.. I'm almost 34 weeks. No problems at all with it.

@rydersmommy917 is there any risk of birth issues? Cause people has been scarin me sayin the baby can come out addicted to it and only been takin it since about a week ago

the only thing is , they said I may not want to breast feed.. but that is with ANY antidepressant.

@rydersmommy917 because theres a young OB at my dr office and he told me to not take it but it helps me he wants me on buspar and it doesnt help at all

I actually take both Celexa and buspar. together they help me .. I was on Lexapro and Valium when I found out I was pregn. I go to a high risk clinic and see a bunch of different doctors, they have all said that the combo of meds that I'm on is good..

if the Celexa helps you, then my opinion would be to stay on it.. a happy mommy is a happy baby, that's what my OB doc says. The worst thing that may come from taking it , is not being able to breast feed. Personally I'd rather not breast feed than deal with the depression and anxiety.

and the reason you shouldn't breastfeed while taking it is because it doesn't cross the placenta as much as it does the breastmilk, therefore the baby don't get as much of the medication while pregnant as it would through breastmilk, it is more concentrated .

my OB and Psychiatrist both agree the effects of depression and anxiety on the baby is much greater of a risk than taking the Celexa and Buspar..

I will be 34 weeks this week and have taken these medications the whole time, I am monitored closely because of my history of chronic high blood pressure, my baby is healthy and growing great, no problems at all.
