How much is maternity pay usually?

I got 90% of my wages for 6 weeks and get 140 a week now as that's statutory mat pay

I got a letter today saying I will get 140 but not 90% of my wages at the beginning x

Government website states you get 90% for first 6 weeks then for the rest you either get 90% or 140 a week whichever is less, which is usually the 140. Go on government website and check, I'd bring that up with your work x

I have had to claim through job centre would that be y I won't get the 90% for 1st 6 weeks x

I would have thought you're still entitled to it x

I will ring them next week and check cos should b the same no matter how u claim really x
