Is it possible to change a bedtime routine on a 8 month old?
Liv has always gone to bed at 9,she wont sleep any earlier n has to fall asleep on me before i put her in the cot.
How on earth do i change this,is it possible? I want my evenings back 😓😴

How about changing her day naps a little? Would she have a slightly later nap around 3/4ish then she wouldn't be tired when going home. My manager had the same issue with her son as she had a long car journey home...

@missy84 Is there anyway that you can cut out the power nap at 6 and make it earlier? My daughter used to sleep from 4-6 and then that's why her bedtime was 9 I had to make it earlier x

Its tough because she falls asleep in the car for about 30mins on the way home about 6.15, as she comes to work with me (im a nanny). She always has a bath around 7 but by then is wide awake because of her power nap in the car 😓. Id be happy if she went to bed at 8 as it would b impossible before 8. X

Morgan used to sleep quite late as a younger baby. It gradually got a bit earlier naturally as I always just followed his lead. When he was about 8months I started a bedtime routine. Just bath bottle, stories & bed. I'd take him half an hour earlier than normal for a few days, then bit by bit another half an hour earlier until he eventually got to 7pm. I still think 8pm is a fair enough time though. At this age as long as Their getting a fair amount I don't think it's too important what time.

Hopefully it's something she will grow out of herself. Charlie would never go bed any earlier than 8:30, had to bed fed his bottle and rocked to sleep even at 11 months old. Then he just suddenly started to have his bottle himself and go straight into his cot with it. Now he won't let me cradle him to sleep if I try lol x

She also used to wake up about 5 times a night and now she wakes up once. It's hard at the beginning but so worth it when you see the results x

I got a book from the library. It said to make bedtime earlier by half an hour every day and start a bedtime routine. My daughter was sleeping at 9 she now sleeps at 8. She always has a bath before bed. And in order to get her off the breast I had to just let her cry it out unfortunately. You might have to do the same so that she knows she can't fall asleep on you anymore x
