Anyone online? Feel like a newbie mum all over again 🙈 dont know if I need to call 111 for Charlie…

@winterbaby95, thanks for popping up! Just stuck as to if he's okay and see how he is in the morning or to call 111? Noticed his temperature late afternoon (37.5 under the armpit and 38.7 in the mouth) gave him calpol at 3:45. Went to bed as usual.. he's woken up half an hour ago and checked his temp again- 37.4 under his armpit but he's breathing really heavy. Is it all normal part of a fever or should I call up? X

@winterbaby95, oh and I just gave him more calpol 15 minutes ago. He couldn't have one for bed cos he fell asleep before the next dose was due x

He should be fine if you keep an eye on him. A high temp is anything over 38.1. Maybe he's fighting something off. Keep offering water. Obviously if he doesn't improve over the next day or 2 or gets worse I'd contact doctors or 111 for advice. Both mine have had temps on/off for a few days before. Just kept a close eye on them. Offered Calpol if it went over 38.1 Hope he feels better soon.

@sara-lou86, that's good then. His temp stayed at 38.9, it went up after calpol which surprised me. As for this morning I haven't been able to check yet, he hates it. Safe to say the three of us will be grumpy today with only a couple of hours sleep 🙈 gonna see how he gets on today and go from there

Take him to your doctors purely for your peace of mind, if your unsure. Although 90% of the time they will say virus lol but also you know yourself if it's something more serious. Never any harm though just getting a bit of advice/ reassurance. It's horrible when they're ill isn't it 😔 xx

@staceyhmfc, I doubt it's anything serious, but doesn't make me worry any less! He's got an appointment just to be checked out at 10:50 so I'll feel better after that. Just better to be safe than sorry really and like you say to just have that peace of mind. Definitely, hate seeing him like this 😩 x

@winterbaby95, that's alright. No not at the moment. She said the main reasons for a temp that high is ear or throat infection or cough. She said he has none but his glands are up and swollen so he's fighting some form of infection but didn't say what 🙄 but if his temp still doesn't come down gotta get him seen to again x
