Baby girl had a hard poop and blood in it so i called the nurse line and they said its normal and to give her prune juice mixed with water...shes only a month old though. Does that sound right?

The blood is usually from the tearing of the anal sphincter while pushing a large, hard poop out. It's bright red blood and usually a minor issue. Mama's freak out when there is blood involved, I understand, but unless she is having BLACK poops with a horrendous smell, she's fine. Gastrointestinal blood shows up as black in poop. Bright red is from tearing. Baby should be okay, mama.
@jcbaby she may benefit from the prune juice. About an ounce will do.
@chasha2017 thats what i said! But she said the blood is probably just from her pushing bc shes constipated so give her the prune juice. Idk she seems too young for prune juice.
