They won't even give it to you for the baby ??? Also can't you just pay out for insurance . If your paying those medical fees I'm sure those exceed what monthly insurance prices would be . I've had blood work come to $588 so I can't imagine paying out for all that care .

We found an obgyn with a payment plan. We looked into affordable care plan health insurance but too expensive for our family. Deductible too high.

Also, either way keep all medical receipts and write them off on your taxes this coming year

@twinpeanut we were told we could apply for Emergency Medicaid for the birth...but the obgyn services Medicaid can't help us. I applied twice already.

@shakeithamj i understand. I tried too. They look at gross income (income before taxes) which is ridiculous

I would apply without your husbands income. It would mean just you and the baby would get it but it's worth a shot.

If he lives in the home it would be considered fraud not to include his income. @simmiebaby,

I would try contacting the hospital you plan on delivering at. Most have maternity programs. Or maybe a woman's resource center in your area can lead you in the right direction.

@brownsugarluv maybe it's different then when married and by state. I live at home with my boyfriend and I was able to get Medicaid for just myself and my child even with including his information as not the primary applicant and my income being the sole one.

Since you've applied twice with his information it'd be a good idea to call your case worker too to see if applying with just his income would help. You'd need to not work though. 😕

Yes I work. Cant stop working right now. I plan on applying again once I go on maternity leave, being that I won't be receiving my full income during that time.
