@lillyb Were you applying for food stamps? I ask because I was told to pay all of your bills and stuff before you apply by someone who works in the social services office, not after.

@simmiebaby food stamps, medical assistance, and cash assistance. My husband got into an accident at work and they fired him. We applied right away cuz already we have almost nothing left after it took them a week to get back to us. I'm going down tommrow to show them that things have changed. I can't pay all my bills at once I never have enough money for that plus they all come in at different times.

@lillyb I see. Sorry about the accident. Usually there's a cash cap that you have to have in your account based on state. My state is $2000 and less so even if you just pay some bills and rent or pay a bill early before you apply, the process goes much quicker usually. That's what I was told when I applied so I had to reapply once my account was less. Hopefully they can work things out for you!

@simmiebaby thanx hunny. I think I had total maybe about $800 when I applied a week ago. Now i paid rent and got some food we needed then put gas in the car and were down to $320. No income coming from hubby since they already denied him workers comp finincal and I won't get paid again from my part time job until the 11th. Our daughters due date is the 12th.

@lillyb fingers crossed for you! If you don't have Wic they are usually a bit quicker at scheduling appointments so that could be a good thing to do in the meantime!

I already have wic thankfully but have to re up once the baby is born. Thank you dear it's just a lot at once and it's all so confusing and stressful.
