@infamousmama_, no. I was told to not do anything with it. Same with the stump. It all healed just fine .Just do what you think is best and listen to the advice of your doctor:)

Keep jelly on it. I thought it was safe to stop & later that day his penis was swollen from rubbing against his diaper & he was in pain.

Once the foreskin is cut, petroleum jelly needs to be applied at every diaper change to keep the penis from sticking to gauze or the diaper and to keep the remaining skin from re-adhering to the head of the penis.

I didn't mess with the penis. I would just sponge clean and keep it dry in the diaper.

I did petroleum only around the ring (as the doctor advised) made sure it was enough to not stick to the guaze. How did the doctor tell you to do it ?
